On a day like this, China Nwachukwu a wordsmith and a sculptor of words, is supposed to be very liberal with words.
Singing like that beautifully colored bird, parrot to herald your birthday was my wont but I woke up only to see the ocean of words dry up in my mouth.
This morning, I share a similar fate with that proverbial talkative bird, Woodpecker. It was Woodpecker who boasted that he would uproot trees with his mouth the day his mother would die. As fate would have it, Woodpecker suddenly developed boils all over his mouth the very day his mother eventually passed on.
I may not know how and why - the truth is that words tend to fail me this morning.
Ada, Expecting me to delve into the inner recess of my heart divulging what you mean to me and the large space you occupy in my heart, in sheer invidiousness, is fully comparable to expecting me to list all my siblings and wards in the order in which I love them.
A good guardian who is worth his salt, would, if he must, list the individual attractiveness of each sibling.
The auspiciousness of your birthday affords me the rare privilege of not only wishing you well but an avenue of ventilating my thoughts and feelings about your person and what you represent.
At my age and height, you will agree with me that I, China Nwachukwu, the strange lion that warms his body with his head to the fire; the dry meat that fills the mouth; have gone beyond the age and stage of dancing to be gifted. I owe no one, not even you, anything but the truth irrespective of how bitter. So, everything I write here is how and what I feel about you.
The peculiar attractiveness of your individuality to my heart can be best captured by the fact that whenever you hear the name -LOVELINE D' BUBBLEBEE- you sure know who it is coming from and to whom it is addressed and for what purpose.

Today, being your birthday, happens to be one of those days when I would wish to say very little in order to be heard.
