Joy Ezechikamnayo emerges first Abia Female Governor.
14 year old Miss Joy Ezechikamnayo will be sworn in today as the first Female Governor of Abia State. She is the Senior prefect of Intellectual Giant Christian Academy, Umuahia.
She is the first to become a one day Governor in this maiden edition.
The process was started by the Special Adviser to the Governor on teenage matters, Mrs Chinemenma Umeseaka who collaborated with the Secondary Education Management Board.
Letters were sent to public and private schools in Abia State to present 3 of their best students to write an essay on the topic "If you become Governor of Abia State for a Day, what would you achieve?".
Over 200 schools from Aba , Umuahia and Ohafia zone sent in their essays. Each zone did a written test for all the students and selected those that got at least 6 questions from the 10 questions given to them.
The selected ones did oral test by pitching their ideas to the already submitted written essay. To make the process more transparent, Representative Teachers from different schools form part of the Judges.
38 students came for the grand battle while 20 amongst the 38 emerged winners.
The best will be sworn in as the one day Governor whilst the remaining will form members of her cabinet.
